back home. It was quite a week and leaving is bitter-sweet. We all had
a lot of fun, but I'm sort of ready to go back home. I'm not anxious
to to back to work though.
It's been over 90 degrees pretty much all week long. This computer
geek body of mine got more sun than its probably had in a year. I got
some sunburns, but I'm pretty tan too.
I ate at a lot of good restaurants. Some of the highlights included
eating along the water at a place called Captain's Cove, a place at
the Mayan resort where I had a pineapple made into a bird with chicken
salad on top, a good Italian place, a wonderful breakfast at a hotel
outside Chichen Itza, and a finale at the Hard Rock cafe.
Speaking of Chichen Itza, we had a wonderful trip to these ancient
Mayan ruins on Wednesday. As a history lover I just ate that up. The
ruins were really cool and it always amazes me how these ancient
people were able to accomplish what they did.
Overall it was a wonderful week and I definetely want to come back
again. I also have a newfound respect for the Mexican people. They
were so nice and they are no different than any of us Americans. When
we got back to Waynesboro we stopped at Subway and it was amazing how
unhappy the employees looked. Down in Mexico you could tell that every
person was happy for what they had. Even floor cleaners were nicer than most
up here. Amazing....
