Debate Night-10/7/08 *UPDATE*

McCain keeps bringing up how Obama was wrong with the surge and how he wanted to set a deadline for withdrawal which would be "waving the white flag". Isn't it peculiar how George W. Bush now wants to set a time line for withdrawal? McCain is senile.

Debate Night-10/7/08 *UPDATE*

Obama is definitely winning this debate. He is so calm and collected. McCain still seems like an attack dog who seems jaded. He knows he is running out of time and he gets frustrated quite easily.

Debate Night-10/7/08 *UPDATE*

Holy shit McCain just looked at Obama when he mentioned Warren Buffet. I think pigs are flying outside.

Debate Night-10/7/08 *UPDATE*

McCain just looked Obama in the eye as they shook hands. I wonder if he will look at him eye to eye any more tonight.

....Obama sure does look presidential. How can you not vote for this guy?

Debate Night-10/7/08 *UPDATE*

1 minute to go!!!...........................

Let's see if the talk in the debate gets as nasty as the latest advertisements

Debate Night-10/7/08

I'm going to do something different tonight and *gasp* type up my posts tonight via my laptop. I'm going to do some commentary on tonight's presidential debate. The momentum of this campaign has definitely been swinging in Obama's direction. I really don't see how McCain can win at this point unless something major happens. It is currently 8:20 pm and the debate will be on in 40 minutes...More updates to follow...

Better Late Than Never

Holy shit, what is this? Is it true? Has David updated his blog?
Amazing! I know it has been forever. As a true computer geek I should
be better at updating my blogs, my twitter, and my flickr.

So what is happening with me you may ask. It is now October which
means that u get married in two months. At one point I didn't think an
event like that would never happen. Well here we are. Missy and I have
had our ups and downs like any couple, but I love her very much and am
glad that I found her. No one else understands me quite like she
does, but I know that I still suprise her sometimes.

As for politics, I am quite happy that everything is pointing in
Obama's favor. Finally we will get some real change in this country
and not just fake change. Isn't it amazing that McCain is now an agent
of change and pledges to "change warshington" even though Republicans
have been in control of the executive branch for 8 years and Congress
for 12 out of the past 14 years?

Well that's all for now. Hopefully now I update this again before
2009. :-)

I'm baaaaack!

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle! Look who's writing a blog again! Yes
I know I have been piss-poor at keeping my blog up to date, but here I
am making up for lost time. Missy and I are now moved into the new
townhouse and it rocks! We have so much more room now. It is like a
castle compared to the old place. The cats also have a ton of more
things to explore, as you can see in this picture of Bam Bam. Right
now im sitting on Missy's Pap's porch in Fayette county. We came up
with her dad to visit. This is a pretty nice area. I could see missy
and I getting a place out here one of these days and me getting a nice
IT job near Pittsburgh. On the techy front, I just bought a refurb
TiVo, which I'm excited about. It kills any box supplied by comcast. I
have to go now, but I'll keep this more up to date I promise!

Moving & Misc.

Man, here I go again. I haven't written a blog in eons. I should
really stop that crap! The only thing really going on is that Missy
and I are moving from Waynesboro to Chambersburg before the end of the
month. Justin and Dawn are moving into their new house and we are
going to move into their townhouse.

Getting into that place will really rock. We have no room for storage
right now. I think it will lower our stress level too because it is
amazing how much clutter can tick someone off. Best of all I will get
to park in a garage and wash my car by hand. My poor Civic has yet to
get a good hand-washing.

Goodbye for now.

My Loves

In the above picture you will see my two main loves. One is my
beautiful fiancé Missy and the other is the Apple Macintosh. I'm a
lover and a nerd at the same time! Missy and her family have been so
wonderful and supportive as I've gone through the loss of my Dad. I
have to thank all of my friends and co-workers as well. The outpouring
of support was much appreciated.

Now I have to be strong for my Mom and help her sort through a lot of
financial issues. Dad didn't have life insurance, so now we are left
trying to figure out how to pay for everything. On top of all that I
am stressing out about getting the house that Missy and I desperately
need. All I want is to give her everything she dreams of, but now I
have to wait to see if I have to use any of my capital to pay for
funeral expenses. I just want to get away to someplace remote. I'm
going to pack up Missy and the cats and we are going to get on a boat
to a deserted island somewhere. Maybe we will find some hatches from
the Dharma Initiative that have been abandoned.

Rest in peace, Dad. Your pain is now gone. I love you.

Procrastination....

Hello there all my faithful readers (all 2 of you)! I haven't written
a new blog in eons. So much for keeping this up to date, huh?

Missy and I are on our way to Ikea right now. We want to get some
stuff to help organize our ultra-small apartment. We have to make it
as nice as possible until we can get the hell out of there. The place
isn't too bad I guess, we've just outgrown it.

We're starting to look at houses but the mortgage payment is enough to
give one heartburn. We just have to save some more money. Hopefully we
will be in a new place by the end of the year, which would be a great
wedding present

The attached picture shows a typical scene in lovely Waynesboro. Is
that a stove pipe?

Cancun

Well here we are. We're sitting in the airport at Cancun waiting to go
back home. It was quite a week and leaving is bitter-sweet. We all had
a lot of fun, but I'm sort of ready to go back home. I'm not anxious
to to back to work though.

It's been over 90 degrees pretty much all week long. This computer
geek body of mine got more sun than its probably had in a year. I got
some sunburns, but I'm pretty tan too.

I ate at a lot of good restaurants. Some of the highlights included
eating along the water at a place called Captain's Cove, a place at
the Mayan resort where I had a pineapple made into a bird with chicken
salad on top, a good Italian place, a wonderful breakfast at a hotel
outside Chichen Itza, and a finale at the Hard Rock cafe.

Speaking of Chichen Itza, we had a wonderful trip to these ancient
Mayan ruins on Wednesday. As a history lover I just ate that up. The
ruins were really cool and it always amazes me how these ancient
people were able to accomplish what they did.

Overall it was a wonderful week and I definetely want to come back
again. I also have a newfound respect for the Mexican people. They
were so nice and they are no different than any of us Americans. When
we got back to Waynesboro we stopped at Subway and it was amazing how
unhappy the employees looked. Down in Mexico you could tell that every
person was happy for what they had. Even floor cleaners were nicer than most
up here. Amazing....

Picture of the day

This post today us going to be short. I was looking through my
pictures and wanted to share this one of Bam Bam. I was in the mood to
get a pet and I found that Amazon had really good shipping rates. :) I
hope everyone has a good weekend. Later!

Let it Snow!

Ahh, what a lovely snowy day in beautiful Chambersburg, PA! I don't
think it is supposed to snow a whole lot, but I always find the snow
to be very peaceful. I hate having to clean off my car, especially
when the ice makes it harden though.

The big complaint about this area is that there is nothing to do, but
if you think about it we are pretty close to some major areas like DC,
NYC, etc. I do like it here, I just have a problem with some of the
conservative Chambersburg'ites. Some people are so close-minded. How
anyone could still support our arrogant president is beyond me.

I haven't decided yet who I'm going to vote for in my Democratic
primary, but I'll decide soon. I like both Barak Obama and Hillary
Clinton. I think if they end up as running mates that would be a great
thing. Maybe we'll finally have a government that represents our true
interests.

Okay guys, gotta go. Later!

Mmm Starbucks

I'm sitting at Starbucks right now enjoying a delicious cup of coffee.
(not cherry Coke, Craig) Tonight is Missy's late night at work, so I
thought I would chill here for a while. I haven't really hung out here
very much because I don't like paying for wifi. With my iPhone I can
get on the net though with AT&T's convienient, but pokey network.
Today was an "ok" day. I spent most of the day working on some Cisco
phone system software. This is something I should have had done before
but just haven't had time. I'm sort of hungry so I had myself a low-
fat coffee cake. That should tide me over until Missy and I get home
and have dinner. I'm sure the cats are hungry right now, of course
they're always hungry. The above picture was taken a few days ago in
the kitchen. Cats really are incredibly entertaining. Well that's all
I have to say right now. Impeach Bush!!!

National Holiday

That's right folks! Yesterday the 4th was a national holiday in my
book. It was my birthday and I turned the ripe old age of 27. Missy
surprised me by taking me to Schmankerl-Stube Bavarian restaurant down
in Hagerstown. I had been wanting to go there for a while now but just
hadn't gone. The place was really good. I had literally half a pig as
you can see in the picture. I also had a liter of Dopple-Hirch beer.
That is some good stuff right there! It is a slightly sweet tasting
dark beer.

Kissinger, Brad, and Julie came out for my dinner and then we went to
the movies. John met us at the mall. I wanted to see the new Tim
Burton film "Sweeny Todd", but it must be out of the theater already.
We instead watched National Treasure-Book of Secrets. It was pretty
good in an Indiana Jones sort of way, but nothing beats Indiana Jones.
I can't wait until that movie comes out. Those are some of my favorite
movies of all time.

Speaking of movies, today was a disappointing day for me. I woke up,
made some coffee, and sat down to read my morning blogs. What do I see
but an announcement that Warner Bros. Pictures along with their
subsidiary New Line Cinema is going to go exclusively Blu-ray. In
November I jumped on the high-def DVD bandwagon by purchasing a
Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD player at a secret Wal-Mart sale. The player was
a $200 player on sale for $98. This was Toshiba's way to get a lot if
players into people's homes and up the ante in the war against Sony
and Blu-ray. It worked and over 90,000 players were sold in a very
short time. Warner Bros. was the last major studio that has been
producing movies on both formats. Now that they just announced their
defection, this only leaves Paramount and Universal as major studios
still making films for HD-DVD. The war isn't over yet, but this is a
major blow. It's just sad because Blu-ray just doesn't have all of the
features of HD-DVD. Sony just has too much clout. Once again the
better technology gets put out to pasture. Damn Sony!

Can you tell I am into technology? Oh well, at least I have one of the
best up-converting DVD players on the market.

Okay, I'm done for now. Later!
